How to be prepared.
These are for you, the rider, to make sure you are up to date on what you need to be legal. We will provide you with a list of requirements but please be sure to refer to your states’ laws to be 100% sure.

License/Tag Requirements – Each state has unique requirements so we will provide you with the forms and information you need to register your when you purchase your school colors.

Age Requirements – Most states follow their requirements for an operators license for all on road vehicles. However, some states require a little study in order to operate a scooter. We will inform you of your states requirements.

Insurance Requirements – You will want to make your insurance decisions based on your current Insurance Agent’s recommendations as well as your state guidelines as to the insurance requirements.

Helmet Laws – Your state law dictates whether you need to wear a helmet but we recommend you always wear one. Make it part of the style, and if you are worried about storing it, the cargo box is a handy storage spot.

Safety Gear Requirements – CR is safety conscious and always wants its riders to wear protective gear, from the minimum of helmets to full protective suits, it is your choice and how you feel comfortable.

Warranty information – Your new Green Urban Vehicle has a one year warranty. Your sales representative will cover this warranty in detail and give you the information on the CROSSRUNNER Service Center closest to where you live.

Here is a list of questions we get alot... and the anwers.
Of course, you are welcome to contact us directly for any questions you may have!

I can’t find my school, how do I know if it is available?
The Find Your School page has our complete list of current schools; we have a form at the bottom of this page for those interested in schools that are not currently available. We keep track of the demand there so we know which schools to do next. We look forward to adding all University models.

What is the difference between a CROSSRUNNER and a Vespa®?
Vespa® is a popular brand of scooter. CROSSRUNNER is also a popular brand but the primary emphasis of the CROSSRUNNER product line is the custom look. The high grade finish is specifically designed and personalized to make a statement about who you are and what you ride.

The University line-up is finished in the school's colors and uses licensed logos of mascots and other graphics authorized by the school. The custom finish bikes are themed around popular music artists (like the KISS bike) or various celebrities. They utilize high resolution graphics to create the most striking scooters in the business.

When will the new KISS scooter be available?
The KISS scooters are sceduled to be available first quarter of 2010. You can e-mail CROSSRUNNER to get on the list so that you are notified when they become available. Since demand for these scooters will be heavy, we will contact those on the list in order of their inquiry, so the early names on the list get the first units. When the production start date is established, you will have the option to pre-order the units.

If I have a problem with my scooter, how do I get it fixed, does it have a warranty?
There is a warranty on parts and labor. We have authorized service centers set up in the vicinity of the schools where we are selling the Green Urban Vehicles as well as in various metropolitan areas in the USA. These bikes are a very popular design, so motorcycle shops accross the U.S. and other parts of the world will be able to do repairs as well. CROSSRUNNER has a full line of parts available to dealers and service shops whenever they are needed. If you are a dealer, see the "Dealer Home" page of this site and click the parts icon to browse the parts catalog.

How do I receive my scooter after I purchase it?
The answer varies by state and city. You may pick it up at a dealer or even have it delivered right to your home, ready to run. (Well, you have to connect the battery; which is a snap... and you have to put gas in it) Units ship directly from Atlanta GA or the dealer of your choice so and unless you pick it up yourself, there are additional charges for shipping. But 4 to 5 day shipping by truck quite resonable. All the details of your purchase, including shipping, can be supplied by a CROSSRUNNER scooter representative. Please give us a call at (800)520-7222 and we will walk you through the entire process, even point you to the nearest tag office! Its real easy...

Is this a stickered up scooter you did in your garage?
Absolutely not. These are officially licensed Green Urban Vehicles. Each school or other entity has approved the design(s) before the units are ever produced. The paint is the highest automotive grade and the color is precisely matched using the Pantone system as dictated by each school or licensing entity. Each design uses high grade, opaque color graphic logos and the entire bike is clear coated for a great polished look. When you see the scooters in person, you will be impressed by the quality and attention to detail. Look for CROSSRUNNER collegiate bikes at your school's sporting events and libraries as well as local dealerships!

I don’t know how to ride a motorcycle, is this the same thing?
Scooters are easier to ride because they have an automatic transmission. Unlike most Motorcycles, which you shift with your foot, scooters have a flat platform where your feet rest comfortably and do not have to do any work (no clutch to operate, no gears to change, no brake to push).. Brakes are on the handlebars and operate as easily as those on a bicycle. The throttle, which causes the bike to accelerate, is on the right handlebar grip. Acceleration is smooth and easy!

Will I need to get a motorcycle license to operate one of these bikes?
In some states, a motorcycle operators license is not required for 50cc engine size scooters. For larger engine sizes, like our 150cc models, a motorcycle operators license will be necessary. It's usually pretty easy. If you have a drivers license, most DMVs will issue you a temporary permit just by passing a written test. That gives you time (typically 6 months) to practice operating your scooter before you go back to the DMV and take the driver test. That test is a lot easier than the automobile drivers test because it is just scooter specific subjects. In all states, regardless of engine size, you will have to get a licence plate or "tag" for your scooter for legal operation on roadways. We will supply you with what you need to get that in your state.
